Our Expertise
Once your brief and vision are agreed, our full RS D&M team gets to work.
We collaborate daily with top architects, engineers, surveyors, and a trusted crew of skilled tradespeople—roofers, joiners, tilers, decorators, electricians, and plumbers—bringing deep experience to every project.
Each project is led by a dedicated Project Manager, your main point of contact, ensuring smooth delivery, strict safety standards, and full compliance with building regulations.
Our Process
At RS D&M, we manage your entire project, from design to completion, with clarity, care, and precision.
It starts with a convenient call or visit to understand your vision and budget. From there, we handle everything: design, planning, surveys, engineering, and site management.
You stay informed and in control with regular updates and optional site visits. When the build is done, we provide a tailored handover pack and final sign-off to ensure your satisfaction.
We’re not just builders—we’re your go-to team for every project.

-
Do you provide a guarantee and what level of insurance are you covered?Yes -all our building work comes with a 10-year structural guarantee for peace of mind. We have an Insurance Liability cover of up to 10 million. This means that in the unlikely event of any structural defects, you’re fully protected. We use qualified tradespeople, high-quality materials, and proven construction methods to ensure your loft conversion, extension, or refurbishment is built to last. Our commitment to quality doesn’t end on completion -we’re here for aftercare and ongoing support long after your project is finished.
-
How long will the conversion take?Project timeframes vary based on size and complexity. A standard loft conversion can take 6–8 weeks, while a rear extension or full refurbishment may take several months. We provide a personalised schedule before work begins, outlining each stage from demolition to completion. Our experienced builders work efficiently to keep your construction project on time, while ensuring every detail is finished to the highest standard. Regular updates mean you always know how work is progressing.
-
Do you offer planning, design, and architectural services?Yes - our service can include architectural design, planning applications, and technical drawings. We work with trusted architects to create designs that are functional, stylish, and compliant with UK building regulations. Whether you’re planning a rear extension, loft conversion, or complete refurbishment, our joined-up approach ensures smooth communication, fewer delays, and a design that works in real life -not just on paper. We handle the details so you can focus on the end result.
-
What welfare facilities do you provide during construction? We set up dedicated welfare facility on every site, including a secure office area for administration and a portable toilet placed to ensure your personal sanitaryware is not used during construction. Our goal is to keep your construction site tidy, organised, and self-contained should you be living in during any of the construction phases so you can go about your daily routine with minimal disturbance. Cleanliness, safety, and efficiency are always at the forefront of our work.
-
When can you provide a quote? We provide quotes based on the complexity of the project. For smaller works, expect a detailed quote in 3–5 working days. Medium-sized projects take 5–7 working days, while large or complex builds may take 10–20 working days. This ensures we fully assess your requirements, measure accurately, and price fairly. Every quotation is clear and itemised, so you know exactly what’s included before you commit to your home conversion or extension project.
-
Why choose a specialist construction company?A specialist home conversion company brings experience, precision, and reliability. We focus exclusively on loft conversions, extensions, and refurbishments, meaning we understand the technical challenges and how to avoid costly delays. Our skilled team delivers high-quality results with clear communication and a tailored personal touch. Many of our projects come from referrals -proof of our excellent customer service and craftsmanship. Choosing specialists means your project is in safe, experienced hands from day one.
-
What are your payment terms? Our payment terms are transparent and agreed before work starts. Typically, this includes a deposit, staged payments linked to key milestones, with a outlined rates sheet should there be any variations during the project, and a final balance on completion. This allows you to manage your budget effectively and whilst there may be unforeseen variations we will have outlined and agreed our operative trade rates for the different options to provide full transparency within the scope. With every Valuation/Invoice your project scope of work is itemised with a completion percentage for your approval.
-
How much does a home conversion cost?Generally the cost of a home conversion depends on the project type and specifications. A loft conversion typically ranges from £50,000–£130,000, a rear extension from £60,000–£150,000, and a full house refurbishment depends on size and finishes. We provide a detailed, fixed quotation after an on-site survey so you know exactly what’s included. Every home is unique, so we tailor prices to your needs while ensuring excellent workmanship and great value. We cover London and surrounding areas.
-
Do you manage the whole project?Yes - we offer full project management from design to completion. We coordinate every trade and material delivery, keeping your project on time and within budget. With one point of contact, you avoid the stress of juggling multiple contractors. Our experienced team delivers a seamless service so you can enjoy the transformation of your home without the hassle.
-
Can I speak to a reference or see a showcase home?Yes - we can arrange for you to speak to a past client with a similar project (with their permission) and, where possible, visit a completed loft conversion or extension in person. Alternatively, our online portfolio showcases many of our completed projects, giving you confidence in our workmanship and attention to detail. Transparency is important to us, so we’re always happy to provide references and real examples of our work.
-
Will I be needed throughout the build for decision-making and purchases? We handle most aspects of your home renovation for you, but you’ll be involved in selecting finishes like kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, room layout, and paint colours. We’ll give you a clear timeline for these decisions, so your project stays on track. If you prefer, we can recommend suppliers, arrange samples, and manage orders. This way, your vision is achieved without you needing to oversee every stage of the construction process.
-
Will I need planning permission for a conversion project? Some loft conversions and home extensions are classed as permitted development, while others require planning permission. We work with trusted architectural designers, planning consultants, Party Wall Surveyors to guide you through the process and prepare all necessary documents. Contact us on info@rsdmlimited.co.uk to discuss your project requirements and find out the exact permissions needed before starting construction.
-
Can I live in my home while work is being carried out?Yes -you can often remain at home during your loft conversion or extension. This depends on the project’s scope of work and will be confirmed during our health and safety assessment. We take extra precautions if children are present, such as securing scaffolding and access points. Our builders plan work areas to minimise disruption and maintain your comfort, while keeping your family’s safety the highest priority throughout the construction process.
We would love to speak to you and see if we can help with your project.
